Delivery Preparation Guide for Speedy Sheds
Thank you for choosing Speedy Sheds for your portable storage shed needs! To ensure a smooth delivery process, please follow these guidelines:
1. Delivery and Setup:
When it comes to delivery and setup, we have you covered! Our team offers free delivery and setup within a 50-mile radius from our nearest Speedy Sheds Sales Center. This means that not only will your shed be delivered to your location, but we will also take care of setting it up for you.
To prepare for setup, please ensure you have 4x8x16″ solid concrete blocks ready at the site and are placed near where the building is to be positioned. Occasionally, depending on local building codes, 4x16x16 solid concrete blocks may be required. Our Sales and Delivery team will gladly assist you in determining the number and type of blocks needed. Blocking placement should not exceed 8ft apart per runner. Free delivery includes leveling the building provided the ground conditions are within 30″ of grade. Additional blocking options are available per request for additional fees.
2. Building Placement and Site Preparation:
Choosing the perfect spot for your shed is crucial. The truck and trailer that will be delivering your building may exceed 75’ in length and when loaded with your building may exceed 15.6’ in height. Please ensure the area is clear of obstacles such as trees, fences, debris, or low-hanging wires. You will need at least six feet of clearance all the way around the building at its placement site. Additionally, there should be one foot of clearance on either side when the building is moved through an opening. Our delivery teams are equipped to move the building, but good access is necessary.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that their ground conditions are suitable for delivery. We recommend calling 811, a free service, to locate utility lines before delivery if anchoring is requested.
Please note that there is one free delivery attempt, and all the above requirements must be met upon arrival of the delivery team. If it is determined that another trip is required to complete the setup, a minimum charge of $200.00 will apply.
Additionally, it is important to note that after setup, settling may occur depending on ground conditions. Speedy Sheds nor its agents can be held responsible for this.
3. Anchoring Option:
For added stability and peace of mind, we offer anchoring services at an additional fee. Anchoring is a great option, especially for areas prone to high winds or homeowners’ associations (HOAs) that may require it.
If the building is to be located in an area prone to strong winds or if your HOA mandates anchoring, we highly recommend considering this option to safeguard your investment and ensure the longevity of your shed. Please inquire with our Sales and Delivery team for more information about anchoring services and pricing.
4. Local Regulations:
Before your shed arrives, it is essential to verify any necessary permits and regulations with your local Codes Office. While we strive to provide a seamless delivery experience, Speedy Sheds cannot be held responsible for permits, setbacks, restrictions, or covenants.
5. Building Moves:
Should you require a move for your building in the future, our team offers specialized equipment and expertise to facilitate smooth and efficient moves. Buildings must be completely empty for moves, and our team will ensure that your building is relocated safely and securely.
Please note that payment for move services is to be made directly to the delivery team at the time of service. We hope this detailed guide provides you with the information you need to prepare for the delivery and potential moves of your Speedy Sheds portable storage building. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your local dispatcher or our Corporate Office.
